How to get technology points in Palworld
Technology points in Palworld unlock recipes on the tech tree: weapons, armor, base structures, and Pal gear. A Palworld server keeps that world online for the group instead of tying it to one player’s PC. The points stay on each character. The game tracks two separate totals. Regular technology points pay for most of the tree. Ancient technology points pay for a shorter column, with items such as the Egg Incubator, the Pal Essence Condenser, and the Grappling Gun. You cannot spend one type on the other.

How Palworld awards technology points
You receive 6 technology points every time you level up. Catching Pals, fighting, building, and gathering all fill that bar, so your level pace is where most points come from during a normal run. Capturing the same species ten times grants an experience bonus, so repeating easy catches while you travel pushes the next level faster.
Each fast travel point you activate for the first time grants 1 technology point. Great Eagle Statues glow orange until you use them, then turn blue. The reward does not repeat.
Both of those sources run out. Once levels slow down, Technical Manuals are the supply you can farm.
How to farm technology points with Technical Manuals
Use a manual from your inventory the same way you use food. It is consumed immediately and the points are added on the spot.
| Manual | Points |
|---|---|
| High Grade Technical Manual | 1 technology point |
| Innovative Technical Manual | 2 technology points |
| Future Technical Manual | 3 technology points |
| Ancient Technical Manual | 1 ancient technology point |
The first three feed the regular tree. The ancient manual does not.
Dungeon reward chests are the most consistent drop. Dungeons respawn, so you can rerun them. Manuals also come from fishing (large ponds and spots marked with a purple light; better bait improves the odds), Pal Sanctuary chests, expeditions, and occasionally merchants. Higher-level dungeons are where the 2-point and 3-point manuals, and the ancient manual, show up more often.
Late game, a base loop works if breeding is already set up. Breed Pals that can drop an Innovative Technical Manual when processed on a Pal Disassembly Conveyor. Lyleen and Anubis are the usual choices. Hatch the eggs and disassemble the offspring you do not want to keep. The drop is not guaranteed. Some batches return several books and some return almost none. It is worth running once cake production is already in place. Until you have the conveyor, dungeon chests are the more direct technology points farm.
How to get ancient technology points in Palworld
Ancient technology points do not come from leveling or from fast travel.
The first time you defeat or capture an Alpha Pal, you get 1 ancient technology point. Fighting that same Alpha again still drops loot, including Ancient Civilization Parts, but not another point. The first time you defeat a Tower Boss, you get 5. Each tower pays once.
After those one-time rewards are claimed, Ancient Technical Manuals are the repeatable source. Each one grants 1 ancient technology point. They drop from high-level dungeon chests and sanctuary chests, mixed in with the other manuals.
Several ancient recipes also require Ancient Civilization Parts. Having the point does not let you craft the item if the material is missing. Some technologies stay locked even when you have the points: the tree shows a red banner with the missing requirement, either a specific Tower Boss or a completed Research.
You cannot reset technology points
Spent technology points are not refunded. Memory Wiping Medicine returns the stat points you put into health, stamina, weight, and attack. It does not touch the technology tree. Check the point cost and the level requirement before you unlock a whole row.
What to unlock first
Early on, the unlocks that keep a run moving are the Palbox and Pal Sphere, a campfire, a feed box and a bed, a berry plantation and a ranch, and the Pal Gear Workbench so you can ride Pals. A common shield and a cloth outfit cover the first fights without spending much.
On the ancient column, the Egg Incubator is the unlock that opens breeding. The Pal Essence Condenser comes after that, once you have a Pal you want to rank up. The Grappling Gun is cheap and changes how you move around the map, but it does not replace the incubator if breeding is the goal.
Leveling faster on your own server
Official servers use a fixed experience rate. On a dedicated server you can raise that rate, and every level still grants 6 technology points, so the regular tree moves faster. Manuals and ancient technology points work the same way they do in single player.
Palworld server plans expose that world setting from the control panel, along with the rest of the world options.
